Beau A. Miller - President, Co-Founder, CEO



Beau founded LIVE CONSORTIUM in January 2009 to eliminate the stigma associated with HIV.  By reducing HIV-related stigma, Beau truly believes that LIVE will play an important role in encouraging people to get tested, enter treatment and seek emotional support from their friends and family.  Both as President and CEO, Beau oversees the development and execution of LIVE's many programs, events and initiatives.  In his brief time with LIVE, Beau has presented at the XVIII International AIDS Conference in Vienna, the 2010 National HIV Summit in Washington D.C. and the 2011 International AIDS Impact Conference in Santa Fe.  As LIVE moves into its fourth year, Beau is excited about the positive impact LIVE will have on the entire Houston community.  Prior to founding LIVE, Beau served as a director at the Center For AIDS Board of Directors and chair of its Strategic Planning Committee. In addition to his work with LIVE, Beau is a trial attorney with the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, LLP.

 

 

Dr. Michael Ross - Chief Research Advisor

Dr. Ross joined LIVE CONSORTIUM in 2010 and is responsible for overseeing and implementing the research and reporting of LIVE CONSORTIUM's HIV/AIDS Stigma Research. He is a professor in the Division of Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas School of Public Health. With approximately 20 books and 400 published articles on aspects of homosexuality, Dr. Ross is among the world’s preeminent researchers on men who have sex with men and HIV/STIs. A pioneer in both the impact of law on homosexual persons and Internet sex research, he has an extensive collaborative role with Dr. Rosser, the HIPS program director, serving as a consultant on numerous research projects in the HIPS program. Dr. Ross’s research specialty areas include: STI, HIV/AIDS, drug abuse, community-level and correctional STD/HIV prevention, cross-cultural aspects of public health, and Internet sexuality.

Rimo Berg, PhD - Lead Researcher



Rimo joined LIVE CONSORTIUM in 2011 and helps oversee and implement the research and reporting of LIVE CONSORTIUM's research on HIV/AIDS stigma. After completing a Ph.D. in Health Promotion and Behavior, Rimo took a faculty position in the Health Sciences program at Rice University and was credentialed as a Certified Health Education Specialist. She is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas School of Public Health in addition to working as a researcher at the Norwegian Knowledge Centre for the Health Services in Oslo, Norway. For more than ten years, Rimo has pursued her professional and research interests in HIV prevention and sexual rights. She has conducted HIV research in rural, urban, as well as virtual environments, through the pluralistic use of multiple research methods, and has published works on HIV prevention and sexual health.

Dr. Shannon Schrader - Chief Medical Adviser and Co-Founder



Dr. Schrader co-founded LIVE CONSORTIUM  in 2009 and served as a Director on the Board of Directors in both 2009 and 2010.   As Chief Medical Advisor, Dr. Schrader plays an important role in overseeing all medical aspects of LIVE's programs and initiatives, including serving on the Research/Medical Advisory Board and the INSPIRE Oversight Committee.  Professionally, Dr. Schrader maintains a private practice, The Schrader Clinic, and is active in HIV research.  Dr. Schrader is a member of the American Academy of HIV Medicine, the International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association and also serves as Clinical Faculty for Baylor College of Medicine.  Dr. Schrader continues to follow his passion by treating those affected by HIV.  The many lives, personalities, stories and miracles that he has witnessed over the last 18 years continue to "keep the fire burning" in his heart.

Glenn Urbach - Executive Director 



As Executive Director, Glenn oversees LIVE's day to day operations, and works closely with LIVE's Leadership Team in managing LIVE's program management, fund development coordination, and community outreach activities. Prior to joining LIVE, Glenn was the Executive Director of Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance-Greater Houston. In addition, Glenn brings extensive experience in working in the HIV arena, both as a Ryan White Title I grant officer and as a social worker working with HIV clientele of all ages and backgrounds. He is a graduate of Rice University's Leadership in Non-Profit Executives Program, and holds both Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Social Work from Texas Tech University and the University of Houston, respectively.
