LIVE dedicates itself every day to educating the Houston community not only about HIV and AIDS, but how to fundamentally reduce HIV-related stigma and break down the harmful barriers that prevent individuals from talking about the disease and taking action against it.

In addition, your financial support enables LIVE to conduct innovative research on the many stigmas associated with HIV, its impact on the diagnosed, and the interventions used to reduce such stigmas.

Unique Attributes and Sustainability Features of LIVE CONSORTIUM​

• Unlike many organizations, LIVE is able to continue its growth with minimal overhead cost due to its use of a leveraged workforce consisting primarily of dedicated volunteers in distinct leadership positions.
• As evidenced in the recent increase in HIV incidence rates in Harris County, LIVE is the only organization in the Greater Houston area dedicated to understanding and addressing HIV-related stigma. 
• LIVE is one of the few organizations in the nation that sponsors multi-faceted research studies studying the impact of HIV-related stigma on individuals and communities, and the efficacy of stigma reduction interventions.
• LIVE sponsors the area’s only mentoring program dedicated to serving newly diagnosed HIV-positive men and women in an effort to educate, empower, and provide needed interpersonal support from mentors trained in the complexities of HIV and AIDS.
